The partnership combines BIO-SEA | Ballast Water Treatment with the MicroWISE solution for real-time biological monitoring, and involves joint R&D projects aiming at optimization of port-side treatment systems. Many ballast water treatment systems struggle to meet biological limits during operational testing, while authorities often lack rapid tools to verify compliance at the point of discharge. A port-side treatment systems with biological monitoring will enable ports to obtaine reliable biological data in real time, which today is one of the biggest challenges.
