1.3 million DKK support to develop in-line ballast water quality monitoring platform
Feb 2, 2021
Shipowners installing Ballast water treatment systems are making a substantial technology investment but have no practical way to validate the system’s operational functionality. We want to change that.
MicroWISE recently received funding from the Danish Environmental Technology Development Program (MUDP) towards developing an in-line edition of our BallastWISE (BW) portable ballast water compliance system.
The Danish Environmental Technology Development Program (MUDP)
This government program supports the development of technologies, processes and/or services within environmental technology, and focuses on innovative projects that create value.
What we are developing is more than just a ballast water test: BW Inline/Cloud is a cloud-based, fixed installation water monitoring platform for shipowners.
With this platform, we provide all the software and hardware required to generate all necessary data points to document compliance, report to authorities and other stakeholders and build up a valuable audit trail and database over water quality worldwide. BW Inline/Cloud will use the same image-based analysis method as our portable solution and involve minimal user interaction.
BW Inline/Cloud is being developed and tested in partnerships with strategic industry partners in the BWTS and shipping sector.
